You also read Current Events in the newspaper that continue the stories you read about while in Portia, and sometimes NPCs that you, the player, recognize come to town.My time at Portia is, first and foremost, a game about building, and I've had a great time doing it. For example, Amirah and Arvio are from Barnarock and at one point Amirah mentions that the only other builder she knew left Barnarock before getting their Builder's License (sound familiar? ). The cool thing, IMO, is hearing about things or people from MTaP. ![]() Life in Sandrock is much simpler because the area is much harsher and the town's focus has to be on its survival ("conserve water!" "don't cut down trees!"). Sandrock, on the other hand, wishes it was as high-falootin' and posh a place as Portia. Portia is a successful small town, slowly building itself up and making a name for itself. Being set in a desert, however, necessitates some fairly major changes in how and why things are done and the overall feel of the town. ![]() Most of the basic mechanics of the game are the same: make friends, collect stuff, build stuff, increase your rep, go ruin diving, etc. ![]()
